ABOUT PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN (PRF)

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is an autologous blood concentrate packed with powerful growth factor cells for skin and hair rejuvenation. As we age, our natural collagen production begins to slowly decline leading to a decrease in facial fullness, resulting in sagging and lax skin. Stimulating the production of collagen with PRF can help to restore skin quality resulting in a more youthful, rejuvenated appearance.

BEFORE & AFTER

FAQ

WHAT IS PRF?

Platelet-rich fibrin is composed of platelets and white blood cells, both are producers of growth factors that are essential for skin rejuvenation and hair loss. PRF is 100% natural, free of additives, and chemicals.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?

PRF can be applied or injected anywhere that can benefit from an improvement in skin quality. Most common areas include under eye/tear troughs, nasolabial folds, smile lines, neck, and scalp for hair restoration.

WHAT DOES TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

PRF may be applied topically versus injected. First your blood is drawn and then spun through a centrifuge separating your red blood cells, platelets and plasma. The concentrated platelets are then drawn up into a syringe and and applied to the area/areas of concern.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Unlike filler which offers immediate results, the results of PRF injections are gradual and will become more noticeable over time. You will begin to see the results of your treatment in a few weeks as collagen continues to build. You will notice improvement of fine lines, wrinkles, complexion, and skin tone. For best results, repeat monthly for a series of 3-6 sessions.

WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME OF TREATMENT?

Pain and downtime is minimal. You can expect redness at the injection sites and swelling that may last a few days.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

We recommend a series of 3-6 treatments with results lasting 6-12 months or longer.

SHOULD I DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE FOR TREATMENT?

Schedule appointment at least two weeks before any special event as bruising and swelling are to be expected. Avoid blood thinning agents including aspirin, ibuprofen, ginkgo biloba, garlic supplements, green tea, flax oil, vitamins A&E, for up to 1 week pre and post injection to decrease bruising. If you are taking prescription blood thinners please check with your prescribing doctor if you are able to stop medication for 7-10 days prior to treatment. Do not drink alcohol or caffeine 24-48 hours before or after treatment. You may take Arnica tablets 2-3 days prior and 4-5 days post injection. It is not recommended to receive treatment if pregnant or breastfeeding. Make sure you are hydrated prior to treatment for optimal sample collection.

WHAT TO DO DAY OF TREATMENT?
